Naturally my first and second placement are extremely different. My first placement, was in a requires improvement, 11-18yrs, mixed gender school. Whereas my second placement is an outstanding, free school, 11-19yrs, mixed gender, Sikh faith multi ethos school. 1. The Sikh faith aspect of the school concerns me - how enforced is it? is it just Sikhism they promote?, does everyone have to pray? can they opt out? just assemblies or actual lessons? 2. Behaviour - with it being an outstanding school, how much behaviour management will there be? does that put me at an disadvantage - if i don't have to deal with it and then apply/go into a school that does? 3. Lesson planning - from what I've heard, the lesson are pre planned and you teach them - how much flexibility is there? again short term helpful but is it beneficial long time?
